dLife Plug - Set your DVR
Hi all,
I have been insanely busy lately. Lots of work stuff, spending time with my family, and not to mention digging out of the snow that was recently dumped on us.
I've always been a big "blog when you can" advocate -- your blog should NOT be another stress in your life. Mince certainly is not. I like to write, but when life gets busy I do not feel pressured to get an update posted.
With that being said, I recently received an e-mail from Tom Karla at dLife. He's a fellow writer in the Viewpoints section of dLife.com as well as Executive Producer at dLife. The next episode of dLife comes on Sunday evening, so I had to get this posted before then.
The e-mail Tom sent had a subject line that reads "A soldier's story to share with your readers"

Sergeant First Class Mark Thompson joined the Army to serve his country.
He was diagnosed with diabetes and went on an insulin pump.
He was informed that he would not be deployed with his comrades because of his diabetes.
He fought that decision and won---you will not believe what happened when he landed in Iraq.
A story of perseverance, a story of survival, a story to inspire.

Busy is always good to an extent. Just look at our past 4 months. It sure keeps me out of trouble.
I do not want to miss that program. But how do i view it? Does it stream on the site? How are you recording it?

Is that still on CNBC? I can't find it. There's an episode on tonight (Saturday) on another channel, but it doesn't have any information on topic.
What a cool story! I just read one about a young diabetic pilot. Way to go, diabetic boundary breakers!
hey!!! i want to watch that! frown... maybe my brother (or a very nice blogger will record and post it!) i have never seen d.life tv show, so not really sure how long these things last. 30 minutes?
Scott: I watched it finally. it was very moving. But for myself i would have been all.."sir yes sir...I have diabetes..sir i agree with you i should not go to iraq...sir yes sir. Thank you for my diabetes."
However i do strongly believe those awesome a1c's are out there for your taking. I feel there is alot we can do (as parents) to obtain those numbers and present a lifesyle that is condusive to being a healthy person living with diabetes. I hope you all can find it and go with it. It can obviously be done.
