Dilated!

Today was my annual diabetic eye exam. Glad to report there's nothing to report.

Doc said that on a scale of zero to ten (zero being perfectly healthy) I am a 0.01. Music to my ears.

I don't know why, but every time I go in for this appointment I feel like I'm waiting for the hammer to drop.

Thanks to mom & dad for some good genes, because lord knows my blood sugar management needs a lot of work!

Scott-
I had my eye appointment on Monday this week. I'm always freaked out that they're going to suddenly tell me that I'm a day away from going blind. Absurd, really, but I worry nonetheless.
Glad your eyes are healthy! Way to go!

Must've been the week for diabetic checkups! I had the same results as you, but mine was yesterday. Like others, I also am always a bit nervous going in, but thankfully nothing. Till next year....

glad to hear the eyes are in good shape. I am always a litle leary of hearing results from the doctor. Sight is one thing that I would have a tough time losing.

Scott,
Congratulations on such great results. I think we all freak out when we have to go for this appointment. Glad yours was good and there was nothing to freak out about.

Great picture!

Very good news! I'm always nervous about the eye exam - even when I'm pretty sure I'm doing fine.

I know exactly what you mean when you say "I feel like I'm waiting for the hammer to drop". Thats good that there aren't any issues, except maybe the dialation which gives you a kind of freaky look!

My annual exam is the 17th of this month. I am always waiting on the other foot to drop also. It's sad, isn't it?
I'm glad all went well for you.

LOL, is that for real a picture of your eyes? it's pretty hilarious/disney character/stoned looking.

congrats on the good news. i get freaked out going to the eye dr. too (and it doesn't help that my eye doc is a) an ass and b) doesn't seem to actually know very much at all about diabetes).

Great news, Scott! Really! I am always so fearful of my appointments, even though they haven't found anything... yet.

You have amazing eyes!

I agree on the amazing eyes comment. I have not gone in two years and I keep avoiding it. I love my eye doctor have been going to him forever. He knows me and we talk about the diabetic in his office who he wants me to help, little does he know I suffer from all her lows as well, but I do have the pump.

I am soooo happy your eyes are good. :)

You have gorgeous eyelashes. Your pupils look great too (I didn't want them to get jealous).

Congrats Scott. I just had mine last night and I got that "0" you were talking about. Boy was I relieved as I skipped my annual exam last year. My dad has type II and wasn't so lucky. He ended up with a detached retina. Keep up the good work.

Scott, there is no hammer.

I have had 3 laser surgeries for retinopathy. I can honestly say that I cannot notice even the slightest change in my vision. This used to be something to fear...20 years ago. Now its an in-office out patient procedure without anesthetic.

But if it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way about the Kidney test.

Don't worry, stay healthy,

Jason
